About Mold Involved

Mold Involved IconGetting Together

Since COVID hit, we aren’t meeting each other as much in our usual community settings, we are going to the pub less, having less face-to-face meetings and social events. It has become harder to connect and find out about the many things happening in our town. Our informal research indicates that many people want to get involved and simply don’t know about many community initiatives.

Mold Involved IconFor the Good

The good news is that people who feel more connected to others have lower levels of anxiety and depression. Moreover, studies show they also have higher self-esteem, greater empathy for others, are more trusting and cooperative and, therefore, others are more open to trusting and cooperating with them. In other words, social connectedness generates a positive feedback loop of social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Mold Involved IconRecognising Positivity

COVID-19 has resulted in positive community connections being made, and these will become even more essential in the years ahead. We want to create a virtual hub, where people feel valued, supported, and connected. By sharing inspiring stories, ideas for action and positive projects, people’s health and wellbeing would also improve.

Mold Involved IconAmplifying Community Spirit

We have compiled a list of local groups and organisations that may be of interest. If we have missed a group on the list, please feel free to get in touch. The website also provides an area for local news and events. If you would like to promote an event or would like to share some news, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email.

Mold already has a strong community spirit, and this website is a resource to further amplify this, and everyone stands to benefit.

Run by the community, for the community.

As the website is run by volunteers, we promise to do our best to answer your emails and to keep the website up to date. Finally, there is the Mold Involved Forum where people can share stories and ideas for positive action. Simply sign up by clicking the Register button, then you are free to share your thoughts. All contributions to the Forum are gratefully appreciated. Please try to ensure that any topics raised are relevant to the community or a particular group. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with the site rules and be considerate of others.
